Rajasthan Home Minister and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Gulab Chand Kataria met with an accident while heading towards Jaipur on late Saturday night. The accident that occurred near Chaksu town resulted in minor injuries to the Home Minister and the security staff travelling with him.
Late in the night, Kataria was headed from to Jaipur from Kota in the official vehicle provided to him.
After crossing Chaksu town, the minister’s vehicle had gone a few kilometers and was near the Shivdaspura toll plaza when suddenly the pilot jeep ahead of the Home Minister’s car stopped. The driver of Home Minister’s car applied brakes, however, the car could not be stopped completely and crashed into the jeep from behind.
As a result, the passengers in both the vehicles were jolted and hit the seats and dashboards. The Home Minister sustained an injury just above his eye and on his face.After the staff and minister regained composure, he was rushed to MG Hospital where the hospital authorities were informed beforehand about the accident and injury. Upon reaching the hospital, the minister was given first aid and a complete checkup for any internal injuries. The staff members with the minister were also provided first aid as the injuries were not major.
The doctors at the hospital later discharged the home minister after realising that the injury was not a major one. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other BJP leaders spoke to the Home Minister and enquired about his health.
