Rajasthan High Court Justice Sandeep Mehta believes that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has neither tampered history nor it has hurt any public sentiments. This film enhances the pride of the whole country and Rajasthan. Padmaavat was specially screened for a Rajasthan high court judge.

During the hearing on Tuesday after watching the film, he announced the decision to quash the FIR registered against filmmaker Sanjay Bhansali and film artist Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Sanjay Leela Bhansali might have received great relief from this order.

It is worth mentioning that after watching Padmavat’s promo last year, a person named Virendra Singh in Nagaur district had lodged a case against director Bhansali, film stars (Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone) for hurting religious and social sentiments.

After watching the film on Monday night, Judge Sandeep Mehta said that no sentiments have been hurt in this movie and for this reason he gave the order to quash the FIR. Advocate Ravi Bhansali and Nishant Boda advocated on Bhansali’s behalf in the court.

During the hearing, it was argued that is it a religious or historical character. It was assumed that Padmavati is a historical character and there is no tampering with history in the film. Justice Sandeep Mehta said that people should watch this film so that the misunderstandings of the complainants and the common people can be resolved. The Supreme Court has lifted the ban on this film, so if any cinema hall wants to show this film, then the police should provide security for it.

Kalvi reacts:

Reacting to this Karni sena’s patron Lokendra Singh Kalvi said that he respects the decission of HC. Under Section 6 Sub Section 1,2 of the Cinematography Act, the Prime Minister can ban the film. I am seeking the time to meet the PM Modi on this issue.
