Rajasthan Government ‘presents’ double relief to farmers

In yet another relief, the amnesty scheme in which rebate is given to consumers for depositing the outstanding amount, it has been agreed upon that now its benefit will be given to all farmers.

Once again farmers of the state have been given relief by the government. A meeting between the ministerial group and the office bearers of Kisan Sangh was held in Vidyut Bhawan on Wednesday.

It comes as the biggest relief to the farmers,  as the cases of Vigilance checking report (VCR) filed against the farmers will be disposed off by paying merely 10% amount now.

In yet another relief, the amnesty scheme in which rebate is given to consumers for depositing the outstanding amount, it has been agreed upon that now its benefit will be given to all farmers. Earlier, it was a provision that for 3 years the benefit could not be taken again. However, it has now been done away with. Filing of VCR’s has been a major issue troubling the farmers and it has been claimed many times that the VCR’s filed were arbitrary.

After almost a day- long meeting, agreement on this was reached.Moreover, it has also been decided that farmers will get 6 months time to pay their outstanding electricity bills and their connections won’t be disconnected for one year.

The issues related to vigilance checking were also taken up during the meeting and strict guidelines will be formed. After the meeting, agriculture minister Prabhulal Saini said that agreement on various issues related to electricity, purchase of produce on MSP, on issues related to boond boond sinchai yojana etc was reached.

The meeting was held in various rounds and it was attended by minister of state for energy Pushpendra Singh, agriculture minister Prabhulal Saini, cooperatives minister Ajay Singh Kilak, BJP state president Ashok Parnami.

Senior officials of energy department including principal secretary Sanjay Malhotra, officials of discom, managing director of Jodhpur discom, Aarti Dogra, Jaipur discom managing director R G Gupta, Ajmer discom managing director B M Bhamu and officials of agriculutre department were present.
