“The aim of this centre is to provide the right treatment at the right time,” Dr BS Ajaikumar, Chairman, Healthcare Global Enterprises said. “With the launch of this centre, HCG hospital is the first hospital bringing Vital Beam System for implementing advanced image-guided radiotherapy to Rajasthan. The technology is the latest solution to offer high-quality, high-throughput radiation therapy that is capable of enhancing clinical outcomes. The 200-bed facility provides cancer care through a multidisciplinary team approach by a  team of medical experts that specialises in various forms of oncology like Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Nuclear Medicine and Haemato-oncology,” he added.

The Vital Beam radiotherapy system’s integrated imaging tools enable the treatment team to pinpoint the tumour they are going to treat, monitor its position during treatment and make adjustments for greater accuracy.

“It allows us to choose an imaging mode that minimizes the amount of X-rays needed to generate an image and that’s good for patients. With this system simple treatments that once took 15 minutes or more can be complete in less than two once the patient is in position,”said Dr Ajaikumar.
