Rajasthan: Following the trend - Now, RTO employees on strike

It’s the season of agitations in the state and even as thousands of ministerial employees remained on mahapadav (sit in) for the fifth day on Monday, the transport officers across the state will be on mass leave on Tuesday. This will hamper the working of regional transport office like issuing license, registration certificate and other such works on Tuesday. 

The officials affiliated to Rajasthan Parivahan Nirikshak Sangh, in support of their 6 demands charter, have decided that they will take mass leave. In a letter sent to the additional chief secretary of transport, the officials have demanded that night patrol conducted by them should be stopped. In the letter, they have said that in the current checking system, there is a possibility of an accident of the transport inspector and the security person as in last one year, about 10 security personnel died due to accidents during the checking. 

They say that in absence of flasher light, the flying squad is difficult to be identified and therefore, night checking is impossible therefore it should be stopped. Apart from this, there are some other demands too which they have mentioned in the letter sent to ACS transport recently. Therefore, the transport inspectors won’t be in the office of RTO at Jhalana and at Jagatpura on Tuesday and the people coming to get their works done on Tuesday will have to come back again.

Meanwhile, after three day holidays of the state government, the government offices opened, however, thousands of these employees which are from more than 100 departments continued to remain on mahapadav.

With every other day, their sit-in is gaining strength and the number of agitating employees is increasing. They have a 9 points demand charter. Notably, the ministerial employees have been demanding allowances at par with the secretariat employees and have also been opposing the deduction in the grade pay of Rs 3,600.
