Rajasthan cleanliness panel to recruit sanitation workers soon

Commission inquired about the status of toilets built in urban areas under Clean India Mission

After discussions on necessary suggestions in recruitment rules and amendments made, the State Cleanliness Commission has decided to issue the releases soon for the recruitment of sanitation workers. The decision was taken at the General Meeting presided over by Gopal Pacherwal, Chairman, State Cleanliness Commission. 

Commission inquired about the status of toilets built in urban areas under Clean India Mission. “Out of 191 urban bodies in the state, have been declared as open defecation free and more than 3,15,000 household toilets in the urban body areas have been constructed with their photographs uploaded on the portal,” said Pawan Arora, Director and Joint Secretary of Commission. The decision taken for the recruitment of cleaning workers by State government was welcomed by the State Cleanliness Commission. During this, extensive discussions were also held in connection with the amendment in the Rajasthan Municipality Cleanliness Staff Service Rule 2012.Director & Joint Secretary, Pawan Arora said that, “Commission will be releasing the proposal for recruitment of cleaning staff including the suggestions for staff service rules soon.” 

16003 seats have already been built in the community toilets. Commission has decided that inspection and physical verification of toilets built in various urban body areas will be carried out by members of the Commission accompanied by departmental officers. 

In the meeting, work done by the cleaning workers under Swachh Bharat Mission in the state was analyzed. The decision was taken to determine the work of cleaning staff and instructions were given to direct all urban bodies in this regard.
