Rajasthan cadre IAS couple to undergo training at Harvard

The Center has shortlisted IAS couple- Madhukar Gupta, currently posted as additional secretary in Department of Public Grievances and Kiran Soni Gupta, who is serving as additional secretary in Ministry of Youth Affairs, for ‘Senior Managers in Government’ short term training course at Harvard University, USA.

They are part of 189 AIS (All India Service) officers who got selected for various courses which the union ministry of personnel approved under its DFFT (Domestic Funding of Foreign Training) program. The DFFT is a scheme introduced by the government of India in 2001 with an objective to upgrade the knowledge and skills of the officers and to provide them exposure at international best practices. 

Rajasthan cadre officers of 1985 batch, Gupta couple will be taking training under Senior Managers program at one of the best universities of the globe, Harvard. Their training program will be of 20 days spanning from July 22 to August 12, 2018. Dinesh Kumar, another Raj cadre officer who is currently posted as joint secretary in Union agriculture ministry, has been kept reserved for the training as per the order issued. 

This IAS couple before resuming deputation in the Center remained on important posts in Rajasthan. Madhukar Gupta held posts of Jaipur divisional commissioner, principal secretary of Higher Education and commissioner in social justice department. When he was divisional commissioner of the state capital he got an opportunity to teach students in Rajasthan University having additional charge of its vice chancellor.
