Rajasthan BJP gears up for Lok Sabha polls, replaces 15 districts chiefs

In Jaipur district, BJP had to face the biggest defeat ever in state Assembly polls. It lost 13 seats out of the 19 here. In the previous Assembly elections, it won 18 seats in the district.

After the shameful defeat in the state Assembly elections, the BJP took some major action on Monday and changed the presidents of 15 districts. BJP city president Sanjay Jain has been removed and former MLA Mohan Lal Gupta has been given the command of the party’s Jaipur city unit. The BJP has appointed two MLAs as district presidents.

The party has 41 organisational districts, out of which, presidents of 15 districts have been changed. The BJP has taken care of the caste equations in the appointment of new district presidents so that the party can get the benefit in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

Jaipur city president’s post has been kept for the Vaishya community. Former MLA Gupta who replaced Sanjay as party’s city unit president. Both are represented Vaishya community.

The BJP has changed the presidents of four major districts of the state including Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner. After the defeat in Assembly elections, it was believed that BJP will make a big change in the organisation and keeping in view the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the saffron party has changed its district chiefs.

In Jaipur district, BJP had to face the biggest defeat ever in state Assembly polls. It lost 13 seats out of the 19 here. In the previous Assembly elections, it won 18 seats in the district. 

A few days ago, the saffron party also had to face a shameful defeat in Jaipur Mayor by-election. Despite a majority in Jaipur Municipal Corporation, BJP’s mayor candidate Manoj Bhardwaj lost. Due to cross-voting of BJP councillors, rebel candidate Vishnu Lata won. Since, then there were demands for removal of Sanjay Jain. On Monday party removed him and appointed Gupta as the new president. Likewise, MLA Ramlal Sharma has been appointed as the Jaipur rural president. Former Jaipur rural president Deen Dayal Kumawat had contested as an Independent from Phulera and so BJP removed Kumawat from the party.

A faction in BJP is opposing senior leader and Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria. Before LS polls, the president of BJP’s city and rural district unit have been changed to eliminate factionalism in Udaipur BJP. 

Ravindra Shrimali was given the command of Udaipur city while Bhanwar Singh Panwar appointed as president of Udaipur Rural unit. 

Similarly, president of city and rural units of Jodhpur too have been changed. Jagat Narayan Joshi has been appointed as the president of Jodhpur city unit while Jagram Vishnoi has made the president of Jodhpur Rural unit. 
Bihari Lal Vishnoi, who defeated senior Congress leader Rameshwar Dudi from Nokha assembly constituency in the recently concluded Assembly elections, has been rewarded and has been made the president of Bikaner rural unit.
