Rajasthan: Bharatpur youths ready to replace veteran leaders

In view of the Election Code of Conduct, local leaders have increased visits for enhancing public relations.

Political parties have started their campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in all districts of Rajasthan including Bharatpur. In view of the Election Code of Conduct, local leaders have increased visits for enhancing public relations. 

At the same time, both the BJP and Congress are looking for new contenders along with the old ones to get a winning edge in the elections. It is believed that some veterans might retire in this election and their heirs may step into their shoes and resume the journey of their parents.

But, it is yet to be seen how the two political parties trust these new candidates. There are seven assembly seats in the district, in which the BJP won on 5 seats and the remaining two are with the Congress party. 

So far as the political families of the district are concerned, the son of veteran Congress leader Natwar Singh, Jagat Singh, who has also been the MLA from Alwar district, is seeking a ticket from Kaman assembly constituency of the district.

Apart from this, Sanjay and Om Prakash, sons of former Governor Jagannath Pahadia, have also tried their luck from the reserved constituency Weir on Congress party ticket, but failed. 

Similarly, son of former Minister of State Animal Husbandary and Dairy Hari Singh, Rajeev Singh is a bureaucrat. 

Like him, in the fray is, son of former Congress Minister and MP Naththi Singh, Ashok Singh, who  has served as the President of Land Development Bank in the past. Both these candidates are seeking ticket from the Nadbai assembly constituency.

SP State President and former MP Pandit Ramkishan’s son Girdhar has also contested in the elections from the city of Bharatpur in the past. The kin of tourism minister Krishnendra Kaur Deepa, Dushyant Singh, is focusing on public relations to be a part of upcoming elections.

A renowned leader of the district and two-time cabinet minister in the BJP government Late Digamber Singh’s, son Dr Shailesh Singh has also started preparations in his father’s assembly constituency Deeg-Kumher. 

On the other hand, the name of the son of Deeg-Kumher’s MLA Vishvendra Singh, Aniruddha Singh, also remains in the political discussions of Bharatpur district.

Sitting MLA of Bharatpur for last fifteen years, Vijay Bansal’s son, Vaibhav Bansal, is rarely seen in the political arena. However, he had looked after the work of his father during the last assembly elections, But he has not yet taken active part in the politics.
