Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Jaipur has got bureaucrats in Rajasthan working overtime to showcase the works carried out by state government in the run-up to assembly elections this year.

However, unlike other times, instead of the officials bragging about state government achievements, the government is planning to get the success stories from the horse’s mouth.

Prime minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jaipur on July 7. Chief secretary Devendra Bhushan Gupta convened a meeting of the district collectors and senior functionaries at the state secretariat on Saturday to plan PM Modi’s visit.

Sources said the collectors are being tasked with identifying the beneficiaries of state and Central schemes in different districts.

“These beneficiaries will recount their experience firsthand,” a sources said. The government is also getting the testimonials of such beneficiaries shot so it can be beamed during the official event hosting the PM in Jaipur, they added.

The decision was taken as  PM Modi has made it a habit to interact with the people directly and inquire about the government schemes and if they have benefitted from them. Sources informed that a public meeting is being planned at “Amrudon ka bagh” during the day as Modi is coming to Jaipur for a national conference on Urban areas which is being organized at JECC Sitapura in evening. During the public meeting the beneficiaries of various schemes of the union government will be brought to Jaipur.

There is a strong possibility that  interaction session with the prime minister may be held during this event. “The focus will be to get the beneficiaries of schemes like Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana -PMAY  ( Urban), PMYU Ujawala Yojana and smart city scheme. State-run schemes like Palanhaar scheme, Rajshri scheme and Bhamashah’s success will also be shared with the prime minister Another round of meeting to review the preparations will be held on June 27, sources added. In this meeting, apart from bureaucrats, senior cops will also be present. The details of the public program shall be shared with the PMO for formal approval.
