Rajasthan BJP on Tuesday released its manifesto in the presence of Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Union ministers Prakash Javadekar and Arjun Meghwal. The 48-page document has been titled Rajasthan Gaurav Sankalp Patra 2018. While it attempts to cater to all sections, the focus is on youth and farmers. At the same time, it avoids the promise of reservation to any community. Fifty lakh employment opportunities have been promised, out of these, 1.5 lakh would be government jobs.

While releasing the manifesto Raje said, “Last time we had promised Suraj (good governance), now we want to enhance the glory of the Rajasthani and that is why it has been named Rajasthan Gaurav Samadpak Patra 2018.” She claimed that 95 percent promises of the last manifesto have been fulfilled.

Jaitley once again reiterated that Raje is the chief minister face for Rajasthan. He said Rajasthan was earlier considered as a Bimaru state, but development efforts of BJP governments at Centre and state have removed it from that category.

Women empowerment is an important part of the BJP Manifesto. A special scheme would be set up to encourage women farmers. Cells would be set up for the recruitment of women in armed forces and paramilitary forces.

Women’s hostels would be set up in every district and Anganwadi centres would be established in border areas. PDS shops would be reserved for women. The manifesto shows its efforts to woo the Brahmin community. A Bhagwan Parshuram Board would also be established. 40% land attached to temples can now be used for commercial purposes. A Gaushala will be established in every district to ensure protection of cows. A State Gochar Vikas Board would be constituted for development of Gochar land.
