She skipped this assembly constituency while on her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in the Jodhpur division. Sheo constituency is officially represented in the 14th Assembly by Manvendra Singh, son of former Union minister Jaswant Singh Jasol, who switched to Congress in an acrimonious split with the BJP which he and his father have represented for decades until now.

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, however, arrived at this constituency to campaign for party candidate Khuman Singh while outgoing  MLA Manvendra Singh now congress candidate is busy campaigning in Jhalrapatan the home turf of Raje and the constituency she has been winning for three consecutive elections.

Prior to that in the month of October, when Manvendra Singh had left BJP, Raje had gone to seek blessings from Rani Bhatyani temple situated in Jasol, the native place of Manvendra Singh.

On Friday, in Sheo, Raje in her typical style retorted “Kamal ka phool kabhi mat bhool” in what is being seen as reply to Manvendra Singh’s now famous “Kamal ka phool meri bhool” jibe he took at the BJP while leaving the party in October this year.

Raje also shot back at  former chief minister Ashok Gehlot‘s allegation over irregularities and corruption in bajri (sand) and instead blamed him for the pathetic situation of sand mining in  state. She said that Gehlot in his tenure entered into contract with such contractors for the sake of election funds which could not be changed. She said that government went to court on this issue and two days back itself it emerged victorious. She said the people who pocketed the money were holding her accountable for the mess they are involved in.

Raje spoke about the works done during her tenure including the work done on refinery, girl education and other sectors and informed in great detail about the benefit people got from Bhamashah health insurance scheme of the government.
