Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned back the charges of absconding bank defaulters on the former Congress government. The prime minister, without taking names, said that those who fled with public money will be brought back to India. “We will bring back those who have fled the country with public money. It has been a long loop of corruption following which the loans were issued to such people and the benefits drawn upon for the favor,” said Modi while addressing an election rally at Vidhyadhar Nagar stadium.

The issue of absconding bank defaulters such as Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya has often been mentioned during the election rallies of Congress national president Rahul Gandhi. The Congress leaders have blamed the Narendra Modi government to let the defaulting industrialist escape from the country. The prime minister to break his silence on the issue went aggressive on the previous UPA government. “Their party, while in government, used to push the banks into granting loans to such undeserving people. The loan amount issued during the last tenure of UPA government was more than the total loans issued between 1947 and 2008,” he added.

Taking the attack on corruption further, Modi also indirectly referred alleged land scam involving Robert Vadra. For the purpose, he said shell company was created at Rajasthan which was later granted loan by a steel company.

This steel company had been a benefit upon the association with UPA government to draw a loan from the bank. “The shell company purchased the land at Rajasthan and transferred it to a relative of ‘naamdar’ (Rahul Gandhi),” he said. In his address, he also mocked upon the situation of Congress in Rajasthan and said that according to political experts, the election of Rajasthan has already become a case study. The Congress leaders too admit that they have lost the advantage before elections and BJP is sure to register a victory once again. Modi said that he has come to demand a vote for development.

The rally of Modi has come just a day before campaigning ends for Rajasthan assembly elections and is expected to impact atleast 12 assembly constituencies of Jaipur. The prime minister to have arrived Jaipur by air had a 19-kilometer ride through city roads before reaching the meeting venue.

The Land Scam

Taking the attack on corruption further, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also indirectly referred alleged land scam involving Robert Vadra. For the purpose, he said shell company was created at Rajasthan which was later granted loan by a steel company.

MODI SPEAK

PM Modi On Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi latched onto Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ barb at him, saying he would recite the slogan ten times in the presence of lakhs of people.

Crashing The Fatwa

“Congress has a ‘naamdar’. That naamdar issued a ‘fatwa’ that Modiji should not start addressing election rallies with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. And therefore, I, today in the presence of lakhs of people here, I crushed his fatwa and said Bharat Mata ki Jai ten times,” he said at a rally in Sikar district of poll-bound Rajasthan.

‘You Insult Bharat Mata

“You (Gandhi) should be ashamed for this. Freedom fighters embraced death by saying Bharat Mata ki Jai. Our soldiers carry out surgical strikes and say Bharat Mata ki Jai. You are insulting Bharat Mata,” he said.
