Political momentum has become increasingly intense in Marwar too in the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. Senior Congress leader and former chief minister, Ashok Gehlot, addressed a public gathering in favor of Congress candidates in Phalodi, Lohawat, Bhopalgarh and Pipad of Jodhpur district area on Thursday. Gehlot said that he has no craving for a post but his only intention is to serve the public.

On Thursday morning, he went to address public meetings in support of Congress nominees in rural areas of the district. Gehlot reached Phalodi at around 11 am in a helicopter and addressed a public meeting in support of Congress candidate Mahesh Vyas at Major Shaitan Singh Stadium.

Gehlot said that Rahul Gandhi has given the youth an opportunity by giving them a chance to fight elections from many constituencies. He added that PM Modi had said, “70 years have been given to the Congress, give me 50 days. If the situation of the country does not change, then hang me at an intersection.” Gehlot said that today every intersection in the country is waiting for Modi.

Gehlot, while targeting the BJP, said that the country is going through a grave situation and the BJP has just given ‘jumle’.

He said that the BJP is misusing the social media and writing derogatory things. The youth are going from pillar to post for employment and women are insecure in state. Gehlot said that the BJP government stopped projects of the Congress government in the state, but I will not stop BJP’s plans even after winning.

Gehlot also addressed Congress workers in Lohawat Vidhan Sabha and later a rally in support of Bhawarlal Balai, Congress candidate of Bhopaalgarh in Bavdi in the afternoon. After this a meeting was held in Pipar city and after that he returned to Jodhpur city. It may be noted that in the last elections, the BJP has won 9 seats out of ten seats.
