Rajasthan: A 100-day plan to adhere to Gandhian values

Governor Kalyan Singh on Thursday shared the newly elected state government’s vision for development of the state. In his customary address at the newly elected 15th legislative assembly, governor Singh spoke of government’s 100-Day plan for achievement of targets by various departments underlining the importance of commitment to ‘Gandhian’ principles.

Governor Kalyan Singh on Thursday shared the newly elected state government’s vision for development of the state. In his customary address at the newly elected 15th legislative assembly, governor Singh spoke of government’s 100-Day plan for achievement of targets by various departments underlining the importance of commitment to ‘Gandhian’ principles. 

“This year we celebrate 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The new government is committed to work in accordance to his principles,” said the governor addressing the House. 

“The government will provide a sensitive,  transparent and responsible administration at the state and establish an environment of peace, harmony and goodwill,” he added. 

He informed the House that a new government has adopted its pre-poll manifesto as an official policy document. All the department heads have been instructed to prepare a 100-Day work plan. 

The 38-page address prepared by the newly elected government consists a list of promises assuring an all-round development for all sections and communities of Rajasthan. It also happens to sight upon ‘faulty policies’ and ‘mismanagement’ of the former BJP government and make a point of mentioning them in the address. “The former government was misled in irrelevant process of finding faults in works of their predecessor’s government,” said the governor.

In his address, the governor held the former government responsible for slowing down the economic progress of state, reduction in gross average income growth and agriculture growth of Rajasthan. The ‘vision-less policies’ of former government were blamed for rise in loses incurred by the state and increase in debt. 

Meanwhile, in the long-list of promises and assurances made through the governor’s address, there was a clear focus on appeasing the agrarian population. There were 12 major declarations including farm loan waiver, easy loan and drought relief.

It mentioned of efforts to establish environment labs at 26 districts and proposed ‘Shaheed Smarak’ (martyr memorials) in all districts.
