The shuffle is being seen as the last major rejig before the elections scheduled later this year.
The state government transferred a whopping 75 officials of the Indian Police Services (IPS) wherein superintendents of police (SP) of 27 districts have been shuffled. The shuffle is being seen as the last major rejig before the elections scheduled later this year. Notably, no inspector general posted in any range or in the commissionerate has been shifted.
The position of Special Director General – Law and Order - has been created and ADG NRK Reddy has been promoted to the rank of special DG while ADG Alok Tripathi has also been promoted to the rank of DG in the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Moreover, ADG jail Dr Bhupendra Singh have been promoted to the position of DG jail.
While the promotions have been awarded, the offices have not been shuffled. The only IG shifted is Smita Srivastava. Posted at IG Vigilance earlier, she has been shifted to IG Armed battalion.
It appears that Jaipur Police Commissioner Sanjay Agarwal and Jodhpur Police Commissioner have succeeded in impressing the state government with their work style, as they have been retained even after their completion of over two years. Agarwal has been Jaipur Commissioner for the past 2.5 years while Rathore will complete four years as Jodhpur police Commissioner in August 2018.
Meanwhile, there have been several changes in the Jaipur Commissionerate as several officials have been shifted out. DCP east Kunwar Rashtradeep has been shifted to SP Udaipur. Rashtradeep had served for nearly four years in Jaipur where he cracked major crime cases and probably has been shifted to Udaipur to handle the crime scene there. Moreover, additional commissioner (I) Prafful Kumar has been shifted to the Anti terrorism Squad (ATS) as its DIG while counterpart Additional Commissioner (II) Dr Nitin Deep Blaggan has been shifted to Kumar’s position as Additional Commissioner (I). Gaurav Shrivastav DCP HQ Jaipur has been shifted to Additional Commissioner (II) at jaipur Commissionerate while DCP crime Dr Vikas Pathak has been shifted to the post of DCP South Jaipur. Moreover, jaipur rural SP rameshwar Singh has also been shifted oput to SP Bhilwara while SP Ajay pal Lamba will be the new SP jaipur rural.
Interestingly, the structure of the Jaipur police commissionerate remains broadly the same, it appears the new entrants will have to “up their game” as their posting has been done in election year which has its own challenges.
Other changes
Notably, ASP Ajmer south Monika Sen – who shot to fame with succesful handling of mob violence at Sanwrad after Anand Pal Singh encounter – has been made DCP West at Jodhpur Commissionerate while ASP Deedwana Deepak Yadav has been shifted to the position of ACP Amer in Jaipur. Apart from this, SPs of Jaisalmer, Sawai Madhopur, Rajsamand, Hanumangarh, Sikar, Nagaur, Badmer, Baran, Jhunjhunu, GRP Ajmer, Pali, Bhilwara, Karauli, Bundi, Udaipur have been changed.
