Rajasthan: 25 injured after bus rams into car

Around 14 passengers were referred to Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) Hospital in Kota after medical care at community health centre in Sultanpur town, while others were discharged after primary care.

At least 25 passengers sustained injuries after a private passenger bus going from Kota to Sheopur city in Madhya Pradesh overturned after hitting a car near Kanwarpura village on Kota – Sheopur state highway. The area falls under Degod police station of Kota district. 

Around  14 passengers were referred to Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) Hospital in Kota after medical care at community health centre in Sultanpur town, while others were discharged after primary care.

The private bus going from Kota to Sheopur overturned after colliding head on with a car around 1 pm near Kanwarpura village on Kota – Sheopur state highway, said Ramkalyan, a police personnel, stationed at the Degod police station. 

The car driver also sustained head injuries and underwent stitches at CHC Sultanpur, he further added. 

On the report filed by the car driver, police have lodged a case of negligent driving against the private bus driver and initiated further investigation into the matter.

Sources said that the accident could have been fatal for the passengers inside the bus and in the car. It was sheer luck that the car driver, in particular, escaped with injuries, a police official said. The driver is presently out of danger after minor operation.
