Rain likely today, winter set for a comeback

Jaipur residents may have to brace for a fresh spell of rain on Tuesday.This is likely bring down the murcury by a few notches.     

The day temperatures in the state, which were settling above the normal, came near the normal levels and fell marginally below with a change in the weather conditions.   

On Monday, the maximum temperature in most districts of the state remained above the 20 degrees mark. In Jaipur, the mercury dropped by 5 degrees in the last couple of days and minimum temperature was at 10.5 degrees Celsius.

Many places saw minimum temperatures in double digits, which indicated that winter was on its outward journey. 

But the flow of dry and cold northwesterly winds across the region during the last 24 hours brought down the night temperature notably.

On Monday, Sikar remained the coldest city in the plains with minimum temperature settling at 4 degrees Celsius. 

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the western and central parts of Rajasthan by Tuesday. Moreover, the humid winds from the Arabian Sea will ramp up the moisture content in the region.

In the wake of this,a thunderstorm or light rain may occur at a few places of East and Central Rajasthan on Tuesday. Cities like Jaipur, Kota, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur,Alwar and Ajmer could witness thunderstorms or light rain. Though for Jaipur, it could be a touch-and-go situation as the city could even miss the showers.

As per the weathermen, the sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy over most places of the state. This may trigger a marginal drop in the day temperature during the next 24 hours.
