To take feedback from grass-root workers in Rajasthan, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will have dialogues with them with technology intervention on March 8 under ‘Shakti’ Program. Rajasthan Congress unit is the first across the country to go through the initiative.

According to party sources, in a bid to strengthen the state unit ahead of assembly polls, Congress has come up with such contact initiative, under which Gandhi and senior AICC leaders will communicate with its grassroots workers in Rajasthan.

The communication programme ‘Shakti’, the leaders claim, would bridge the communication gap between the party high command and its workers. The sources add that the initiative has been conceptualized by Gandhi himself in order to engage the workers of Congress party, who are with high hopes after winning three by-elections recently- Ajmer, Alwar and Mandagarh.

“A direct communication with Gandhi would also boost the morale of party workers. How would he be communicating with all workers through technology will be revealed on March 8,” said a party functionary talking about the program.

Notably, Rajasthan is set for general assembly polls in the final quarter of the year and Congress, which wants to wrest power from BJP is in full swing to strengthen its base. The party has also decided to intensify ‘Mera Booth Mera Gaurav’ (My booth- My pride) program which also aims to boost party at booth level.
