Congress president Rahul Gandhi is likely to tour Rajasthan in the first week of July, said RPCC president Sachin Pilot, adding that campaign committees for the upcoming assembly election will soon be constituted on the lines of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh model.

Pilot reviewed Mera Booth-Mera Gaurav (MBMG), a mass contact programme, along with senior leaders at PCC headquarters on Monday. Strengthening and activation of workers at 50,000 booths across the state is the target of the programme, said Pilot while talking to the scribes. The party currently is holding MBMG in 200 assembly constituencies across the state.

Moreover, the state congress head delivered a strong message to the leaders who are damaging unity of the party by indulging into indiscipline publicly. “We will not tolerate indiscipline in the party. In Shahpura incident, the party has suspended a senior leader for six years while two leaders were slapped with show cause notices,” said Pilot.

On Friday, leaders roughed up each other during MBMG programme in Shahpura where the clothes of AICC national spokesperson Sandeep Singh Chouhhary were torn apart.

The incident occurred as the supporters of Choudhary and Alok Beniwal, a former party contestant from Shahpura, clashed with each other over who will take to stage first. The supporters of Beniwal manhandled Choudhary and torn off his clothes.
