Rahul Gandhi appoints election coordinators in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Co-ordination committee has been appointed with focus on assembly elections.

Congress national president Rahul Gandhi formally geared the party at Rajasthan for assembly elections with announcement of Co-ordinator committee. The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Co-ordination committee has been appointed with focus on assembly elections. 

“The party president Rahul Gandhi has constituted the co-ordination committee with regards to forthcoming assembly elections,” stated congress general secretary, Janardan Dwivedi, while releasing the list of committee members.

Even as the assembly elections are scheduled in last quarter of this year, the congress will attempt to maintain the political momentum from sweeping victory at recent by-elections in state. Announcing the committee, the congress president has also attempted to strike a power balance among the party leaders. The committee includes Rajasthan congress general secretary incharge Avinash Pande, RPCC  president Sachin Pilot and heads of all state-level bodies. The 23- member list also includes many ex-officials and senior leaders.

Former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Jagannath Pahadia have been included among the coordinators along with former state congress presidents CP Joshi, BD Kalla, Girja Vyas, Narayan Singh and Dr Chandrabhan.   Ex- governor Kamla Beniwal, AICC general secretary Mohan Prakash and former speaker of Rajasthan Assembly Deependra Singh Shekhawat also add to the ‘senior’ leaders tally in the list. CLP Rameshwar Dudi, Dy CLP Ramesh Meena and Ex-CLP leader Hemarama Chaudhary are also among its members.
