Only Vasundharaji would be our Chief Minister as we are contesting under her leadership, says Javadekar
Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development, discusses on what the BJP strategy will be for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan and how they will balance candidates demands for tickets without ruffling feathers.
There are many candidates for 200 seats, how will you manage?
Bharatiya Janata Party is now a winner party. In 2014, when Modiji became PM, we had six governments and the Congress had 16. Now, the Congress has been reduced to only 4 states. In such a situation, the demand of people is high, which is also good for democracy. Our party is currently meeting the locals in Ranakpur, and soon there will be a dialogue with people in Jaipur too. The distribution of tickets will be done with everyone's opinion.
There is a huge army of current MLAs. How many of them will be overlooked?
Change is the rule of the world and it is a continuous process. Not only us, but all parties can change their candidates. However, it is hard to say what percentage will it be.
The performance of many legislators is not good and many ministers have protests in their own area. Will they get tickets?
It is not that the performance of our ministers has not been good. Many schemes have worked towards changing the direction. DBT has increased transparency. If the Centre sends Rs. 100, full amount is received. Good work has been done in the fields of education, infrastructure and drinking water. The state has come second in education sector. People have got the convenience of housing, health, employment.
There are protests despite the claims of development. How will you overcome the incompetency?
Always wanting more is normal human nature. If the BJP gives good government, the expectations of the people also rise. We have done well and we will get the benefit. That's why we are seeking power again. Our aim is to keep doing better.
Which issues is the BJP is considering as part of its poll planks?
Our issue is development and only development. Congress betrayed the poor and played minority vote bank politics. We do not do this, we only promote politics of development. The poor only ask you for good education and we have forwarded this demand, which is the reason why the poor of Rajasthan supporting the Congress is now with the BJP, with Narendra Modi. Rajasthan was once a sick state and we created the developed state.
When will the first list of candidates be declared?
Candidates will be on the final level of selection before submitting forms till November 12. The list will be released soon.
Will the BJP benefit from the differences between Gehlot and Pilot?
This is their fight and the public never likes these fights.
Distances were seen between Delhi and Jaipur's power in the last few years?
Modiji, Amit Shah and Vasundharaji are our trump cards. There is no difference, the BJP will be seen working with team spirit.
Can the government employees' agitation and incomplete demands just before the code of conduct be a pain point?
The seventh pay commission was brought by the Modi government. They also gave 78 days bonus to Railways and served justice to all the departments. During my tenure in Maharashtra as MLA, we have addressed several demands which will continue. Code of conduct is currently in force and we will further solve this because only the BJP has a solution.
If the BJP wins the elections, who will be the Chief Minister?
