Power cut to be in force from September 15 in Jaipur

Ahead of Diwali, power shutdowns for maintenance works will begin from the month of September. Jaipur discom’s city circle has been preparing to undertake the maintenance work for Diwali and for the same, the power cuts will start from September 15.

The objective of this maintenance work is to check and overhaul the electricity system so that it can handle and bear the load of electricity that will be a great deal higher during the festival. With markets, homes and, corporate and public buildings being heavily decorated during the extended period of festivities during Diwali, load-shedding becomes all the more important. Power cuts will create inconvenience as it will be in force for several hours on the scheduled power cut date. Currently, only two days are given to the discom maintenance team for shutdowns to carry out the emergency maintenance work. 

Engineers reveal that usually shutdowns are done to address emergency situations and engineers of city circle of Jaipur discom inform that currently during the week if there is any need for repair and maintenance work then shutdown is allowed only on Tuesday and Friday and the maintenance teams have to wait for these two days to carry out necessary repair work. 

Preparation begins

With markets, homes, and corporate and public buildings being heavily decorated during extended period of festivities during Diwali, load-shedding becomes important.
