Polo Asso suspends MLA Chandna for one year

Ashok Chandna, Rajasthan Youth Congress president and MLA, has been suspended with immediate effect by the Indian Polo Association for his misbehaviour on the ground. Chandna would not be able to play any tournament this year. DNA has a copy of the documents of disciplinary action against Chandna.

Unhappy with referee’s decision, during a match between Chanda group and Jaipur team on September 22, Chandna used foul language against referees, players and officials of Rambagh Club. He also invaded the field with hundreds of people and abused the referees.

Referee Uday Kalan lodged a complaint with the tournament committee of Rajasthan polo club, which during an emergency meeting imposed a one-year ban on Chandna. Secretary of Rajasthan Polo Club also sent a letter to Indian Polo Association, which referred the matter to disciplinary committee that suspended Chandna for a year with immediate effect. This was the second time Chandna has indulged in such behaviour. Earlier, in January, he misbehaved with players and umpires on Cavalry ground and threatened them.
