In the election year, the focus of the electricity company is on improving its service to the agriculture sector which has about 4 lakh agriculture consumers under Jaipur Discom. The top management of Jaipur Discom has asked the field engineers to make electricity to the rural areas available just like the cities. It has also been decided that the Kisan Transformer Parivartan Yojana, which envisages replacing the faulty transformers in 3 hours, will be launched from August 15.
In a recent meeting held at Vidyut Bhawan, chairman and managing director of Jaipur Discom RG Gupta asked the officials that when the rate of electricity is same for everybody, the electricity system should be same for villages and cities and the facility of electricity should be same in villages. He said that the officials should work to their full capacity and make use of the resources given by discom to deliver quality service to the consumer.
Apart from this, it has also been decided that Kisan Transformer Parivartan Yojana will be started across all the districts coming under Jaipur Discom. This scheme is specially made for the farmers in which once they lodge their complaint on the Bijli Mitra app, the faulty transformer will be changed in 3 hours.
A pilot project had been started in Jhalawar recently wherein the faulty electricity transformers are being replaced between 3 to 6 hours of the timeframe of the complaints being lodged on Bijli Mitra app of Jaipur Discom. Under this, the farmers won’t have to go around the government offices for getting the faulty transformers changed. Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, during her Jhalawar tour recently, had said that the government has started this scheme seeing the loss to the farmers because of the long process involved in changing of transformers.
The Parivartan
