Gangster Anandpal’s encounter gave forum to several Rajput leaders to express their anger towards the party
The Rajput rally at Sanwrad on 12th July brought to the fore different political connotations with it. Where the anti-government wave of the Rajputs came out in the open, political parties are now looking to make the most of the existing situation.
Approximately a year from now, the people would cast their votes to choose a new government in Rajasthan. However, the same thought has brought out the BJP politicos from their so-called ‘deep slumber’. the reason, a dissent in its traditional vote bank - Rajputs.
Anandpal’s encounter gave a forum to Rajput leaders to express their anger. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is also keeping her fingers crossed to woo the Rajputs.
However, off late, the Rajputs have felt a discord with the chief minister.
The discord was brought to the front when during a meeting of Rajput community in Jodhpur which was attended by thousands of members, Raje had allegedly reached uninvited.
During the meeting, prominent leaders had made strong objections to Raje approaching the Rajputs so late. Sources reveal that the aftermath of Sanwrad incident has made Raje realise that the Rajputs will not favour the party.
Due to this reason, a contingency plan has been made wherein Raje has directed a minister - also from the Rajput community - to identify the people from the community who did not support the agitation against Anandpal encounter. The cabinet minister has made teams at each district level that is now interacting with the community members in villages and cities. The team is tasked with identifying those from the community who
were averted to the Anandpal encounter and Sanwrad incident.
