PM expected to launch infra projects in Raj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Rajasthan in coming days to lay foundation stones, inaugurate projects in the tune of Rs25,000 crore, informed Transport Minister Yunus Khan.

“The Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, had a word with PM Modi about the projects to be inaugurated  and the PM has given his consent. Soon the chief minister Vasundhara Raje will call on Modi to invite him to visit Rajasthan to inaugurate the projects,” Khan told the scribes here at the assembly after casting his vote in the presidential election. The date of the PM’s visit will be decided after the meeting, he added.

“There are projects in the tune of Rs15,000 crore which are being funded by the central government. Development works worth Rs10,000 crore are being carried out by state government on its own. These projects will be inaugurated or their foundation will be laid by the PM during the visit. Of them, Rs4,000 crore is for projects which were launched on December 13, 2014 and are nearing completion, said Khan. The minister added that it is Gadkari who proposed  for the PM’s visit.

Khan said major projects of which foundation stones will be laid by the PM, include Ring Road projects in Kota and Jodhpur and a formal event on Jaipur Ring Road project. Also, a hanging bridge in Kota will be dedicated to the people.

Road projects connecting Kota-Darrah, Pokhran-Jaisalmer, Jodhpur-Barmer are among the ones of which PM will lay foundation stone. Khan added the government will finalise the detailed project report on access controlled expressway between Jaipur and Delhi. The meeting is scheduled to be held in Jaipur next week.
