Congress will clear loan dues of Mangalram, the Nagaur district farmer who committed suicide after failing to repay a loan amount of Rs 2.98 lakh to a nationalised bank. PCC chief Sachin Pilot, who paid a visit to the deceased farmer’s home in Nagaur’s Charanvas village on Wednesday, lashed out at Chief minister Vasundhara Raje for taking out Gaurav Yatra at a time when farmers are committing suicide and added that the party will pay all his dues along with lending every other help that is needed by the family.

“It is very unfortunate that the head of the state (CM) is busy taking out Gaurav Yatra while on the other hand funeral procession of farmers continue to rise in the state. I am shocked to learn from kin of the deceased farmer that he was harassed and insulted to pay the loan amount. Such a behaviour is highly condemnable,” said Pilot. Accusing the government for not taking action to address the issue of farmers, the state congress head said that not a single BJP leader met the family of the farmer.  “It has been four days since the suicide of Mangalram, who is a dalit, but not a single BJP leader came to meet his family members.

The anti-farmer policies of the BJP government have been exposed completely,” stated Pilot adding that not a single farmer committed suicide even in drought situations in the history, but the farmers are now resorting to the extreme steps as the government ignored their issues.
