The Lok Sabha seats of Alwar and Ajmer in Rajasthan have bypolls scheduled for January 29.

Before the World Cup of state politics, which is the 2018 assembly elections, the BJP and Congress have another chance to flex their muscles.
The Lok Sabha seats of Alwar and Ajmer in Rajasthan have bypolls scheduled for January 29.
The BJP has put up Labour Minister Dr Jaswant Singh Yadav from the Alwar seat and Ramswaroop Lamba from Ajmer. Meanwhile, the Congress has fielded Raghu Sharma in Ajmer and Karan Singh Yadav in Alwar.
Before this intense political battle rages, here’s a glance of what happened at the Alwar and Ajmer seats in the last three Lok Sabha elections.
It is worth mentioning that in Ajmer during 2004 Lok Sabha poll, BJP’s Rasa Singh Rawat won this seat with 59 per cent votes.
In Alwar during 2014 Lok Sabha poll, BJP’s Candidate late Chand Nath won the seat with a margin of 26 per cent votes.
In 2004, BJP’s Rasa Singh Rawat won this seat with 59 per cent votes. Then, in 2009, Sachin Pilot won the seat for the Congress, and in 2014 he was defeated by BJP’s Late Sanwar Lal Jat.
The seat has been vacant since Jat’s death in August 2017, the BJP has pitched his son Ramswaroop Lamba as their candidate for the bypolls.

Rajasthan’s Alwar seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MP Mahant Chand Nath.
Analysis of this last three parliamentary poll results shows that in 2004 and 2009, the Congress won this seat, but in 2014, Chand Nath won the seat with a margin of 26 percent. At the moment, Alwar is divided by different sets of opinions or beliefs – reflected by events like Gau Rakshak, Cow Smuggling etc in the recent past – is been a subject of discussion in Alwar.
