A Pakistani national has been arrested for trespassing into the air force station at Jaisalmer. The person was arrested when he entered the IAF premises by jumping over the boundary wall on Wednesday morning. He was caught by an IAF security guard.

The Pakistani national, by the name of Purkho Ram Bheel, had a Pakistani passport on him. He also had an Aadhaar card issued in his name from Sriganganagar.

According to preliminary information, Purkho Ram Bheel had been living in the canal area of Vijaynagar in Sriganganagar district for the last 18 years. He worked as a farm labourer in the area. He was on a visa to India that he kept extending.  

The arrested national is being interrogated by the air force security and military police. It is believed that he was spying for Pakistan. His mobile phone is also being investigated.

Purkho Ram has been handed over to the local police after interrogation. The police will also interrogate him. Meanwhile, security has been intensified around the air force station at Jaisalmer.

According to reliable defence sources, “He is of sound mental health and has been interrogated by us. We have handed him over to the police.”
