The Sarv Brahman Mahasabha has withdrawn its protest against, Manikarnika, a periodical movie based on Jhansi's legendary queen, Rani Lakshmibai. The Kangna Ranaut starer movie was heading on lines of Padmaavat, that had evoked ire of several community groups in the state and country. However, a visit of the movie producer Kamal Jain to Bhrahman Mahasabha headquarter at Jaipur and a written assurance nipped the protest before budding.

"We are making this film, MANIKARNIKA witha great passion and huge respect towards the great woman who is unmatchable at her reputation," Kamal Jain assured in his letter.

The Brahman Mahasabha holding that the queen was born in a Brahmin family had demanded an explanation from the producers over the script content. Rumours about distortion of historical facts in the movie continue to flame dissent. The Mahasabha too had demanded the government to ban shooting of the movie and warned of massive demonstrations to prevent the movie from being shot.

The organisation though was quick to accept the assurances of producer and withdrew its protest, at least for now. "An understanding has been reached following assurances from the producer that historical facts will not be distorted," said Suresh Mishra.

It had been on several occasion that the allegations against the movie were ridiculed by the movie cast and crew. The Mahasabha though was adamant on a written explanation and had sent a notice to the producer in this regard. In response to the notice the producer informed that books by several historians have been referred while scripting the movie.

As the acceptance has been achieved the state has been saved from becoming budding ground of another public protest against a movie. A recent protest against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Padmaavat had cause several violent demonstrations and has prevented the movie to be released in the state. To have settled the dispute, Manikarnika has won a war that Padmaavat lost.
