No cheers! Excise dept raises licence fee of liquor shops

For IMFL and beer, the licence fee has been increased by 10% while for country liquor the licence fee has been raised by 15 %.

Continuing with the policy of the previous year, the excise department has increased the licence fee for renewal of licence for authorized liquor shops and Bhang shops in the state.

For IMFL and beer, the licence fee has been increased by 10% while for country liquor the licence fee has been raised by 15 %.

The licence fee for Bhang shops has been increased by 6%. Only after payment of the licence fees, a shops’s licence will be renewed.

It was declared last year that it will be a combined excise policy for the financial year 2017-18 and 2018-19. A     licence will be renewed after the revised fees are paid.

Now, the licence fee of IMFL and beer shops in Jaipur and Jodhpur will be Rs 27 lakhs.

In the ongoing financial year, this fee was Rs 25 lakh for Jaipur and Jodhpur. In case of other divisional headquarters and Mount Abu as well as Jaisalmer, the fees for the new financial year will be Rs 22 lakh. It is currently Rs 20 lakh.

For district headquarters Alwar, Sikar, Bhilwara Pali and Ganganagar, the fee will be Rs17 lakh which till now was Rs 15 lakh. For other district headquarters, the fee will be Rs 15 lakh which till now was Rs 13 lakh.

For all other Nagar Palika areas and Saagwada the fee this time will be Rs 13.50 lakhs while till now it was Rs 11.50 lakh.

The process of renewal will begin from February 8 and in case renewal is not done, then the shops will be taken from the owners and the shop will be up for sale via lottery.
