The hearing in a petition filed by actor Salman Khan against sentencing in the black buck poaching case was held on Monday.

Salman appeared in the district and sessions court (rural) of Judge Chandra Kumar Songara around 8.30 in the morning. He challenged the five-year sentence by the trial court.

After completing formalities in court, Salman left the court with his sister Alvira in seven minutes. Now, the next hearing will be on July 17.

There was tension on the face of Salman. Judge Songara adjourned the hearing after the defence counsel Mahesh Bora sought time to begin arguments.

After this, public prosecutor Pokrram said that he is ready for the arguments in this case. But Salman’s lawyer said that he needs some time to prepare for the arguments. After this, he requested the court to decide the next hearing date for July 17. On this, the judge adjourned the hearing to July 17. Salman’s lawyer requested the court to exempt the actor from personal appearance in future hearings. It’s not yet known if Salman will have to appear in court on the next hearing date.

After coming out of court, Salman did not talk to anyone. Security was beefed up during his appearance in court as the actor was facing death threat by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

On April 5, Salman was sentenced to five years in jail. Then, Khan was sent the Jodhpur jail, where he spent two nights. Later, district and sessions Judge Ravindra Kumar Joshi granted him bail in the case.
