Gadkari said that the BJP government has developed and improved roads of the country in the last four years, something that the Congress failed to do in more than 50 years.

The much-awaited Ring Road project is in the final stages and it will be inaugurated on January 30 next year, union minister for road and transport Nitin Gadkari gave the information during the press conference on Monday.
Gadkari, who came to Jaipur to campaign for the BJP, said at a press conference that the work of Jaipur Delhi Six Lane Highway has also been completed, but he will not inaugurate it. In response to a question, Gadkari said that he is ashamed to inaugurate the project because it got delayed for so long. Ninety-nine per cent work of six-lane highway has been completed. During this, he completely rejected the possibility of making the national highways toll-free and added that if you want to avail of the facilities, you should be willing to pay for it.
“If there are good roads in the country, people should have no qualms to pay toll chargtes,” he said.
Enumerating the achievements of his department, Gadkari said that the BJP government has developed and improved roads of the country in the last four years, something that the Congress failed to do in more than 50 years. He said that the central government is working towards resolving the problem of drinking water across the country. “We are making attempts to bring Yamuna water to Rajasthan. Churu district will get 40 per cent of the water of this project. With the Eastern Canal project, the water problem in 29 districts of the state will be resolved. Apart from this, the problem of water leakage from the Indira Gandhi Canal is also being resolved,” he added. responding a question on the Delhi-Mumbai Corridor, Gadkari said that the land acquisition work has been completed and it will benefit make Rajasthan. He informed that during his tenure, works about 2 lakh crore have been started to improve the condition of the roads in the state.
While targeting Congress, Gadkari said that the BJP is not the party of mother and son. “Every worker here is working hard to make the party strong and I am also doing it,” Gadkari said.
