The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is all set to adopt a path of change. On the heels of fullpants replacing traditional shorts, RSS swayamsevaks will soon be undertaking programmes to develop skills and keep them in in sync with the society.

The organisation which was till now limited to the morning shakhas where they got lessons on sanskars, nationalism and practised Yoga, exercise and sports will now enhance the skills of its swayamsevaks and promote them to work for the development of society. This will be done through various programmes and institutions.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday issued these instruction to sangh office-bearers on the first day of his Jaipur visit. As per Bhagwat's instructions, the RSS would begin the process of expanding base and move beyond its present working zone.

Apart from the development of Swayamsevaks in the shakhas, RSS has decided to make them undertake programmes that would keep them in sync with the society and forge a bond with it. This will be most crucial in bringing about change and development in society. Extensive programmes are being drawn up to do so.

Bhagwat on Thursday chaired three extensive meetings with state and regional functionaries of the RSS. In the meetings, his focus was on the expansion of the organisation and facilitating its association with society.

Ever since their inception, Shakhas have been following a similar pattern, and this is the first move to make them move with times.

RSS chief gave a mantra to the RSS office bearers to work for change in society. Bhagwat said that the Sangh's branches should become the medium of change in society. RSS Swayamsevak should do such things which have utility in society , he said. During the meeting Bhagwat also said that the branches in Rajasthan should have programs of social interest for the change of society. The shakahs whose major time has passed should run the programs for society's benefits. skills of swyamsevaks should be developed through shakhas of students and young professionals.
