Minister Ashok Chandana warns cop extorting money from Bundi locals

State minister for sports and youth affairs Ashok Chandana on Thursday came down heavily on the Rajasthan police personnel and scolded the circle in charge of Hindoli police station of Bundi district for extorting money from the locals as they rode on NH- 52.

State minister for sports and youth affairs Ashok Chandana on Thursday came down heavily on the Rajasthan police personnel and scolded the circle in charge of Hindoli police station of Bundi district for extorting money from the locals as they rode on NH- 52. 

The minister, during his visit to his constituency, on Friday launched ‘Mantri Apke Gaon’ (minister at your village) programme in Raghunathpura village of Bundi district and heard pubic grievances. He then directed the officials to sort them out immediately.

While passing though NH– 52 near Peach ki Bawadi, with the minister was receiving greetings from the locals. On seeing the minister amidst them, the locals complained of money extortion by the cops while they passed on NH on two and four wheelers. On hearing this the minister lost his temper and slammed the cops for extorting of money from the public.

Chandana asked the circle in charge of Hindoli police station Laxman Singh to call the concerned cop involved in money extortion from villagers.  When the concerned cop did not turn up, Chandana scolded the circle in charge. 
“Why don’t you call the cop here……., he is reported to be sitting over there…..you are telling a lie…….has he turned such a big Lord Shab,” a visibly upset minister said.

When the concerned cop, named Dayaram did not turn up even after the minister’s orders, Chandana became very angry and warned the cop, “I will send you on a job at the toll plaza after freeing you from this police job……keep this in mind.” 

“Stop this illegal extortion of Rs50 and Rs 100 from villagers,” the minister further  said while adding, “If I come to know of any extortion of money by cops from the locals,” Chandana while warning the cops said “I will spoil your job/service…keep it in mind…… you will not have to lose your job for the sake of just rupees 100 and 50.” (Kanhi app ki 100-50 rupya ke khathir  jindgi bhar ki nokari kharab ho jayegi).

Chandana further went on to warn the cop, “You take it as my last warning…..and get it properly in mind.”           

Chandana launched his maiden programme ‘Mantri Apke Gaon’ in Raghunathpura village of his constituency.  With an aim to immediately sort out the public grievances. 

Chandana directed the officials to listen to the problems of the locals and to act on them to sort them out at the earliest.

Under ‘Mantri Apke Gaon’ programme, five major issues of the village would be taken up and their solution or implementation would be ensured on time, the minister said. 

The five issues include houses to those left out under Prime Minister Housing Scheme, concrete roads in villages, food security, electricity connection and pension to eligible, he said.

The minister had on Thursday too held a public grievances redresser meetings in Salawliya, Sahaspuriya, Rampuriya, and Singhadi villages.
