Jaipur discom team that had gone to check the meter of a retired IAS met with resistance from the former bureaucrat leading to disconnection of electricity supply.
The issue began when Sangeeta Meena, JEN of Jaipur discom in Jagatpura area went to the house of RK Meena.
The team had gone to check the electricity consumption as JEN Meena informed DNA that it was observed that inspite of having a big house the electricity consumption in the house of Meena was very less.
Therefore, on suspicion on electricity theft the team visited his house.
However, seeing the team reportedly Meena got angry and asked the team not to check the electricity meter. After argument with the team, the discom team unable to carry the inspection of meter, disconnected the supply of the house.
“The team went to the house of retd IAS R K meena for checking the meter, he did not allowed us to reach the meter, we thereafter disconnected the supply of the house” said Sangeeta Meena while speaking to dna.
Sources informed that it was observed by discom that the electricity consumption was merely 20-30 units which was kind of abnormal for the house of such size.
Later, once the matter cooled down the meter which was in the house was replaced with a different meter and the connection of the electricity was restored by the team. The meter has now been sent to the laboratory of discom for testing.
The officials informed that in case it is proved that tampering was done with the meter the consumer will have to pay for the excess amount of electricity consumption made till now.
“The test report will come soon and only after that any further action will be taken,” said a discom official.

Therefore, on suspicion on electricity theft the team visited his house but was stopped from checking the meter.
