Man held on charge of minor daughter rape

A man has been arrested on the alleged charge of repeatedly raping his seven-year-old girl of in Jhalawar. This is the third incident of rape of a minor girl in the last six days in the district.

According to police, victim’s mother had died and she was living with father. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) came to know about the incident when the girl stopped attending  Aanganwadi centre. A Aanganwadi worker went to her home where she narrated her ordeal. On the report by the CWC, a case under section 376 of IPC and section of POASO Act was yesterday lodged against the accused father Mohammed Rayees, who would be produced before the court today, he added. 

The victim is currently undergoing medical treatment at government woman hospital in Jhalawar and her condition is stated to be out of danger.

This is the third incident of rape of a minor in the last six days.  On November 26, a 12-year-old girl of Meena community, a class 6th student was allegedly raped by a neighbourhood youth. On November 28,  a 10-year-old  girl of Mehar community was allegedly raped and murdered in Dug town of Jhalawar district.
