The Border Security Force (BSF)  on Friday nabbed a man in suspicious circumstances close to the border with Pakistan.

The man was acting weird in front of the BSF jawans and on questioning about his identity could not provide a proper answer. Suspecting that he could have crossed over the international border from Pakistan, the man was interrogated by a joint interrogation team, which after thorough questioning, established the identity of the man as one Damor Vaghabhai Sakna.

“The man is of approximately 25 years of age, a native of Udava village in Mahisagar district of Gujarat. No suspicious items were recovered from his possession and it has also come to light that he has been suffering from some metal illness for the past few years. He was handed over to the police for further inquiry into the matter,” officials said.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Sialkot in Pakistan, who was caught by the Border Security Force in the restricted area recently, will be deported to Pakistan in the coming days.

Iqbal, according to sources, was caught and handed over to the Ramgarh Police a few days ago. An inquiry was ordered into his arrest and suspicious movement.

During the joint interrogation by intelligence agencies including the Criminal Investigation Department CID (CB) he was not found involved in any objectionable or illegal activities.

He was then produced in court by the police and was sent to jail. Now, as per the rules, the police are preparing to hand him over to Pakistan, said District Superintendent of Police Jaisalmer Jagadish Chandra Sharma.

He will be handed over to Pakistan during the meeting between BSF and Pak Rangers. However, sources say that his deportation may face some problems as he does not have an identity card of Pakistan. It is generally noted that in such cases where there is no proof to validate identity, Pakistani Rangers can refuse to accept him as a native.
