Rajasthali showroom situated on MI Road near Ajmeri Gate will soon get a makeover and will be developed as a tourism hub.
Rajasthan small industries corporation (RAJSICO) has decided that the showroom will be on PPP mode for its maintenance and to bring a modern look to it.
The idea is to develop book cafe, fast food outlet,currency exchange, ATM, exhibition centre etc in the showroom to facilitate the visiting domestic and foreign tourists.
Giving the information, Principal secretary of the department,Subodh Agarwal informed that Rajasthali mall will become a commercial centre for state’s handicrafts and artisans, designers, handicraft sellers and exporters.
Agarwal said that in the new look, Rajasthali mall will fulfill the expectations of the tourists and will also become the identity of Jaipur.
Notably, there are plans to develop this place as a prime outlet for handicraft items and the 44 thousand square feet area is being developed towards this objective.
In its current form too, it is a big hit amongst the tourists and locals of the city, as the connoisseurs of Rajasthani handicrafts make a point to visit the place in search of authentic handicrafts of Rajasthan. Apart from clothes and fabrics, the place is also known for its collection of marble, wood artifacts.
It’s location at Ajmeri Gate adds to the advantage as it is a prime location.The store also houses section of famous designers of international repute selling their designed clothes.
