Lokayukta tightens noose on JMC for illegal constructions

Famous for its planned architecture, Jaipur’s current haphazard development has irked Lokayukta Justice S S Kothari. He is compelling JMC to identify illegal constructions and take strict action against them. He is also pulling up officials who are showing reluctance.

Justice Kothari has asked JMC officials to survey illegal buildings in their respective areas and to take action. 

According to his instructions, in the first phase, action should be taken against multi-storey buildings built contrary to approved map and violating rules. In the second phase, the buildings where fifth floor has been constructed should be identified.

JMC officials have begun the survey which however is yet to be completed in all zones. The Lokayukta has been calling reluctant officials through summon and imposing fine.
