Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria has once again given a controversial statement against the Muslims community.

Without naming them, Kataria said the country was not going forward as they were putting pressure by having more children while other communities had only two kids.

Hinting towards a law for having less children, Kataria said some laws need to be changed in the country. This is the second time in the last few weeks that Kataria has publicly criticised the Muslim community.

Addressing a public function in his home city and constituency in Udaipur, the LOP said on Saturday, “We can have only two children while they can have as many children as they want. This is spoiling the population balance. Imagine what would be the scenario in the next 50 years. If we are limited to two children, they should also be. Only then can the country be taken forward. All efforts we make towards development go waste.”

Hinting at a law for fixing a limit on the number of children Kataria said, “Some laws need to be changed in the country. But that is possible only if there is a two third majority to form a government.” He said that he would travel across the state to mobilise the workers and ensure his party’s win on all 25 seats in the state.

Kataria, a two-time home minister has reasons to be upset with the minority community as he fared badly in the minority dominated areas in the recently held Assembly elections. But what puts Kataria’s speech under a question mark is the fact that he has five daughters.
