Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister Selja was appointed chairperson of the three-member screening committee for Rajasthan assembly election and she will be assisted by Lalitesh Tripathi and Shakir Sanadi.
Rajasthan Congress will conduct ‘election workshop’ in Royal Haveli on Monday to brief leaders and party workers on electioneering. The senior leaders including PCC chief Sachin Pilot, AICC general secretary and Rajasthan incharge Avinash Pandey along with chairperson of screening committee Kumari Selja will also be a part of the event.
Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister Selja was appointed chairperson of the three-member screening committee for Rajasthan assembly election and she will be assisted by Lalitesh Tripathi and Shakir Sanadi. Lalitesh, a former MLA, is grandson of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kamalapati Tripathi whereas Shakir, the party leader from Karnataka, is son of former MP IG Sanadi.
The entire panel will be attending the event and Selja is expected to deliver the address. Given the kind of influence she exudes, it is being believed that many aspirants will attend the programme. Though no programme is scheduled wherein the panel will hold meeting with the aspirant leaders, said
the sources.
The party is in poll mode and the workshop is a part of the process before starting the campaigning. “In the workshop the party experts will brief the leaders and workers on the issues related to electioneering. Senior party leaders Avinash Pandey, Pilot will attend the programme and make an address,” said Archana Sharma, head of Congress media cell.
MBMG TO CULMINATE
Notably, as the party’s mass contact programme, Mera Booth Mera Gaurav (MBMG) is set to end in a week’s time, the party’s focus will now be on drawing strategy for the election and scanning of candidates.
