As the state has been experiencing heavy rains for the past few days, all the 10 persons, residents of Bawadi Kheda village, who were working on the agriculture field, were caught unawares as the rivulet was flooded with rainwater and suddenly found themselves stranded on the field with gushing water all around them.

Fortunately, the agriculture field was little higher that gave them. With the the agriculture field becoming a sort of island, the hapless farm workers waited for the help to arrive.

Ajay Singh of the Anantpura police station said that as soon as the report of the incident reached them police and Kota Municipal Corporation rescue teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the stranded farmers to safety.

It may be mentioned here that due to heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, most rivers in the Hadauti region are flowing above the danger mark.

The overflowing Chambal, Kalindi and Parwati rivers have submerged many bridges in the area, disrupting the traffic from Baran to Sawai Modhpur and other parts of the state. The bus service from Baran to New Delhi has been stopped. In Jhalawar, Kalindi river has wreaked havoc in the area. The bridge on the Kalindi river was blown away by the flash floods. Looking at heavy rains in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the local administration has sounded an alert and advised the people to avoid travel through these areas.
