Kishangarh airport to be inaugurated today

DGCA gives nod, stage set for take off; CM to be present for opening function

Kishangarh airport will be inaugurated on Wednesday by Jayant Sinha, minister of state for civil aviation alongwith chief minister Vasundhara Raje at 2:30 pm.

Giving the information Ashok Kapoor, director of the airport, said the minister will fly to Kishangarh to inaugurate the airport.

 While the big day for this newly-constructed airport will be Wednesday, on Tuesday, the airport got another good news. It has been given the licence by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This license is needed for airlines to operate in any airport.

Moreover, DGCA, has also granted the permission for operation of 50-seater aeroplane between Kishangarh and Delhi.

“We have got the licence from DGCA today (Tuesday) and soon flights will start operating,” added Kapoor.

Now in coming days the regular commercial flights will begin shortly.  As airlines will now soon be submitting the proposals  to the airport authority for starting their operations, said Kapoor.

In the month of August, International Air Transport Association (IATA) has allotted code KQH to the airport. 

Apart from Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Kota, Kishangarh has become the seventh town in the state to have an airport. 

Many of these cities are now connected via intra-state airline service which connects two cities of the state by air.

Notably, this will be an important airport of the country as it will be feeding the pilgrims of Ajmer and Pushkar. Earlier, VIP passengers were using helipad in Ghughra village in Ajmer. 

Moreover, Kishangarh also is home to marble industry and sees a lot of people coming from across the country. The airport authority hopes that all this will generate good passenger traffic.
