National Student Union of India marked its foundation day at the two-day national convention inaugurated in Jaipur on Monday. The convention ‘Inquilab’, was addressed by PCC chief, Sachin Pilot, who said that Indian National Congress will return in six months, and the key to this change will be the cadre of NSUI. Rameshwar Dudi, leader of opposition, Rajasthan addressing the students remembered his own student activism days. He reminded the students of their energy and power to bring the change. Avinash Pandey, AICC secretary, mentioned how the student movement has contributed towards the development of the country.

NSUI office bearer, Sumittar Bhullar presented the political resolution in Hindi at Inquilab to initiate discussion amongst the students. The resolution consisted of issues like unemployment, Attack on Students Freedom of Speech and Expression, Dalit and Minority Atrocities, Demonetisation and GST, Electoral Reforms, and Age of Contesting Elections.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, launched the NSUI blood donor directory. While addressing the students, he reminded the students how, on the call given by Mahatma Gandhi to join the freedom struggle, the students fully participated in the protests while managing their studies.

City littered with posters of national convention:

The JMC has lodged an FIR against NSUI under Rajasthan Public Property Defacement Act as the Congress student wing littered the city with promotional material of its National Convention. The municipal corporation had made massive efforts to ensure the city’s upkeep under the clean survey, but NSUI undid their effort by putting posters and banners of the convention. NSUI workers also posted posters on road signage, hence making it difficult for the residents and tourists to read the names of roads and tourist places. BJP media cell convener Anand Sharma also expressed displeasure over this and questioned the PCC Chief Sachin Pilot saying, “How will Inquilab come when you are adamant on making the city dirty?”
