In last 5 months, top three leaders of the country holding constitutional positions have come to Jaipur and in a short span of time. In the month of May, President Ramnath Kovind had come to Jaipur. After that in the month of July, Prime minister Narendra Modi visited. Now, on September 25 and 26, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will be coming to Jaipur.
Interestingly, all these leaders have come to Jaipur, leaving a month between their visits since May. As in June and August, no leader of their stature had come. While Naidu’s official schedule is yet not known, the district administration and the state government machinery has geared up for his visit.
They recently had a meeting with the top police officials and other government departments to discuss and prepare for the two-day proposed visit of Naidu. Chief Secretary DB Gupta too shared the information in detail with various government departments and issued them the necessary orders. Instructions regarding police arrangements, traffic movement, availability of medical team at the venue where Naidu will be going and arrangements regarding food testing unit were given by Gupta to officials.
This will be Naidu’s second visit to the state after he took over the office of Vice President in 2017. Naidu had come to Jaipur in the month of January this year when he had been to MNIT and had also participated in a ceremony held at Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Niwai Tonk.
Before that, union minister of urban development Naidu had visited the state many times, he was also the Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan.
Apart from these leaders who are on constitutional positions, this year being an election year, Jaipur has seen the visits of BJP President Amit Shah and Congress President Rahul Gandhi too, keeping the police administration on toes.
