Jaipur Zila Pramukh Moolchand Meena to face floor test today

The voting and discussion on no-confidence motion given by BJP against Zila Pramukh Moolchand Meena will be held in Zila Parishad at 11 am on Wednesday.

After the by-election for the post of mayor on Tuesday, now both the BJP and Congress will now concentrate on the floor test of Zila Parishad Pramukh that will be done on Wednesday.

The voting and discussion on no-confidence motion given by BJP against Zila Pramukh Moolchand Meena will be held in Zila Parishad at 11 am on Wednesday.

For conducting this, chief executive officer of zila parishad has made all the arrangements. Currently hectic political activity is going on in both the BJP and Congress camps. Both the sides have been trying to get maximum support from councillors. The total strength of Zila Parishad is 51 members and out of these BJP has 26 members. Actually BJP had 27 members but Zila Pramukh Mool Chand Meena had switched to Congress in October 2018. Congress now has 22 members while there are two Independents.

For getting the no-confidence motion passed there is a need of 39 members. The political turmoil has been brewing since last few months. A few days back meeting of zila parishad which was to happen on January 11 was postponed. This was second time in few days when meeting was postponed. Earlier it was called on January 7 but that time too it was postponed. The effect of mayor by-election in which BJP Rebel Vishnu Lata won will be seen on this no-confidence vote too say political analyst. While the congress in JMC voted to bring in new mayor, on Wednesday it will be voting in favour of Meena.
