Jaipur: Thugs duping people in the name of Indian Army arrested

The two thugs are brothers and have been cheating people since December 2016.

Nagaland police, in a midnight operation, arrested two persons, Shakir and Sabir, for duping other people to the tune of Rs 1 crore. According to sources they pretended to be officers of Indian Army and won the confidence of the victim and then swindled them. As per the police over a dozen victims have come forward in Nagaland alone.  

The two thugs are brothers and have been cheating people since December 2016. 

“We have received FIR filed by one of the victims in police station Dimapur. These two had put up an advertisement to sell a high-end mobile. One of them convinced the girl that he was an officer in the Indian Army by the name of Vikram Baghmare. The girl ended up paying them Rs70,000,” said Nigam while speaking from Nagaland. Their modus operandi involved taking an advance of Rs7,000 and promise to send the courier within a day. Next they would say that the parcel would be delivered after complete payment was made. When the victim called up, they would say that courier has gone on hold and would be recovered only after paying a fine of Rs11,200.

Duo Arrested 

The Nagaland police team from Dinapur led by trainee IPS Amit Nigam took help of Bharatpur police. The duo were arrested from Jhenjhpuri village.
