A major accident occurred in the city during the wee hours of Monday wherein a speeding bus crashed into a car. The collission resulted in death of two youths. So strong was the impact of the bus that the car was dragged to several feets before coming to a halt. The locals, hearing the crash, rushed out of their homes to help the victims while the bus driver fled from the spot. The police have impounded the vehicles and have initiated a search for the bus driver after registering a case in the matter.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 3 am. “The bus belonging to a private traveler and plying between Chittor and Pilani was coming from Ajmer pulia and was headed towards government hostel. Since it was early morning, the bus driver was driving at a good speed,” officials said.
While on one side the bus was headed, on the other side a car was going downhill. “The car was coming from the opposite direction of Vidhayakpuri police station. It so happened that as the car reached the Sanjay turn, the bus also happened to reach the spot at the same time. Due to high speed, the bus driver could not keep the vehicle in check and the bus crashed into the right flank of the car,” police said. This resulted in the collission and the impact of sheer force left two passengers in the car injured. “After the accident, the bus driver immediately fled from the scene while the locals rushed out of their houses on hearing the sound of the crash. Passersby also stopped and initiated rescue of the two youths in the car. Police was informed and the duo were rushed to hospital where they were declared dead,” police said. The duo have been identified as Neeraj Verma and Aditya Tripathi.
“They were friends and used to work in separate call centres. Aditya hailed from Madhya Pradesh. So far we know they were headed from Vidhayakpuri side, but we do not know where they were headed to and neither do their families members know. The bus has been impounded along with the car and search for the driver has been initiated,” police officials said.

“Passersby initiated rescue of youths in the car. Police was informed and the duo were rushed to hospital where they were declared dead,” police said.
Duo have been identified as Neeraj Verma and Aditya Tripathi.
